Pros and Cons

Here’s an honest look at the positive and negative aspects of playing at Casino Titan. Pay special attention to the “cons” section, as it contains important info on this Web-based casino’s legitimacy.
Pros – For Americans, the fact that Casino Titan accepts you as a real-money player is a pro. The game library is available for instant play, via download, or on smartphones and tablets through a mobile-enabled version of the site. Casino Titan and RTG software allow players to participate in slot and table game tournaments, on a limited number of titles. In my experience, customer service agents are easy to contact through the site’s toll-free support numbers. I was able to talk to a live human being at 7 AM CST, and a question I emailed them (sent to [email protected]) was answered with an hour and a half.
Cons – This site (and its affiliate group, licensure, and ownership) are all suspect, and I’m not the only one who thinks so.
Let’s start with Casino Titan’s membership in the Affactive Group, which Casinomeister.com called the “worst casino group of 2013.” I’d like to also point out that the group won the site’s most-dubious award in 2010 and 2011. Complaints from customers in this group mostly revolve around their use of the infamous “FU clause”, whereby withdrawals are paid in installments determined by something vague called “player class.”
For a pile of examples of customers complaining about this clause (and other shady actions taken by Casino Titan), check out the nine specific complaints about the site on RipoffReport. A few quotes to illustrate the negative reviews this site has earned at just one site:
- “. . . they tell me it’s up to their finance department to tell me how much of my winnings I am getting!” [sic]
- “they just dont want to pay me.” [sic]
- “I have gone back and forth with casino titan about getting paid out. THey finaly paid me out $500 and declined the rest and have repeatedly done so.” [sic]
Basically, the FU clause gives the site the right to pay you in whatever increments they want, with many customers reporting payouts of as little as a couple of hundred dollars per week. Several complaints involve bounced or fraudulent checks, like this customer who told AskGamblers.com that a “. . . check that was sent to pay a $550.02 withdrawal was returned “account closed.”
Here’s a quote from CasinoListings.com that sums up my opinion of the site nicely:
“Casino Titan is one of several casinos run by a company known as Netad Management. The actions of one of the group’s other casinos, Grand Macao Casino, in refusing to pay a big winner in July 2014 has resulted in us blacklisting all casinos run by this company. We no longer have the confidence to say that they will pay you if you win.”
Here, the management company is under fire, specifically for actions taken by one of Casino Titan’s related sites. Netad Management is involved with a number of casinos that have a bad reputation, including Golden Cherry and Slots Jungle. The bottom line is that I think all of the sites mentioned above, along with Casino Titan, should be considered questionable until customer complaints are sorted out.
I am also always suspicious of gambling sites that hold a license from the jurisdiction of Curacao. The world’s top licensing authorities have high standards for their licensees, not to mention that they submit to watchdog groups and auditors regularly to keep them honest. Curacao’s standards are among the lowest in the world. Take a look at this advice from Casinomeister.com about licensing standards for more on why licensure from Curacao is flimsy at best.
My other complaints about Casino Titan seem small in comparison to the many red flags that pop up about management and finances, but for players they are kind of a big deal. The mobile website is ugly and not very functional, host to very few games with little variety.
I’d be happier with the mobile access the site provides if they’d design and release a legitimate app, rather than depend on a mobile-enable site, with all the limitations that entails. Their promotions are also sub-par; more on that in the Casino Titan Bonuses & Promotions section below.
Casino Titan Games Available
The site uses RTG (RealTime Gaming) software exclusively. I find RTG software average at best, with games that are attractive and functional enough to play, but just not as good-looking or fun to play as those produced by others in the industry.
A big problem with RTG is that the software is designed to be reconfigured by each casino that buys a license. That means every casino running Realtime software can configure, for example, the number of decks used in blackjack games. The trouble with that, for players, is that it’s tough to get a sense of the statistical advantage the house has in a number of their games. Read what Wizard of Odds has to say about RTG casinos for more on this topic.
Fruit smash game online. I also don’t like the small library of RTG games hosted here – just thirty-three slots and eighteen table games at the time of this review. The limited variety of games is especially problematic for slots players, since lots of the RTG slots available have similar game play. That means slots at Casino Titan have limited replay and entertainment value – this is not a good thing.
The site’s games are listed in just three categories: Slot Games, Table Games, and Video Poker. All told, only sixty-three titles are available via download or instant play, and the number of mobile games currently available is about half that.
Slot Games
Thirty-three RTG slots are on offer, including popular titles like Aztec’s Treasure and Naughty or Nice. According to this article by Wizard of Odds, RTG casinos have three settings in terms of how loose or tight they want their slots to be, which means I can’t give you many specifics about the payout percentages on the games in Casino Titan’s library. I can say that RTG produces a lot more than thirty-three titles, so it’s odd that this site has chosen less than half of the total games made available by Realtime Gaming.
Table Games
Casino Titan list the following games under the “Table Games” banner:
- Baccarat
- Craps
- European Roulette
- American Roulette
- Tri-Card Poker
- Blackjack
- Keno
- Match Play 21
- Pai Gow Poker
- Perfect Pairs
- Red Dog
- Sic Bo
- European Slot Poker
- Face-Up 21
- Texas Holdem Bonus Poker
- Bonus Bingo
- Hot Dice
- Vegas Three-Card Rummy
A half-dozen of these are variations on blackjack. The rest are a mix of casino classics (roulette, craps, baccarat, etc.) and casino-style poker games. Also included in this section are games normally considered “specialty games” by online casinos, high-risk contests like Sic Bo (a dice game of Asian origin with long odds for the player) and Hot Dice, which is an online version of a traditional scratch-off lotto ticket. RTG doesn’t even post theoretical payout percentages for their scratch card games, and I couldn’t find any reputable source for this information, so smart bettors should stay far away from them.
Video Poker
A total of twelve video poker titles are available at Casino Titan. The classic titles, familiar to any casino gambler, are represented – Jacks or Better, Joker Poker, and the like. Less-common variants are also available, such as Double Double Jackpot Poker and All-American Poker. Players can choose to play multi-hand versions of most of their video poker games, in units of 3, 10, 52, and 100 at a time.
Casino Titan Bonuses and Promotions
Bonus and promotions offers at online casinos are not what they once were. These days, high rollover requirements and complex terms and conditions are the norm, and the offers made by Casino Titan are no different. The amounts promised are high, designed to encourage deposits, but they come with strict and lofty wager requirements that make them about average for the industry.
Here are the four promotions currently available to new and returning members at Casino Titan:
1. The Welcome Bonus
The site’s standard welcome offer is good for up to $3,000 in bonus cash across any new member’s first four deposits, if they opt-in to this promo. The match rate on each deposit is 400%, but the maximum amount earnable per-deposit drops from $1,000 on the first deposit to just $500 on the fourth one. Take note that the site requires a 30x rollover on the total of the player’s deposit plus bonus before the funds are paid out. A player who deposits $100, anticipating a $400 bonus, has to place $15,000 in bets to earn all that “free money.” Take note, too, that only certain games count toward clearing that wager requirement. Craps and roulette are excluded entirely, while blackjack bets only count 5% toward clearing a bonus total. Basically, bettors have to play the highest-risk games in the library to clear their bonus cash at anything close to a quick rate of speed.
2. VIP Club
This is a loyalty club styled after player’s clubs in land-based casinos, but not nearly as valuable to the player. The site is none-too-clear about the specifics of the club program, saying only:
“As you play, you’ll earn points which determine your VIP Club level. The higher your level, the more you are rewarded! Each level gives members a range of benefits from extra generous bonuses, faster withdrawal times, VIP store, personal account manager, faster points accumulation and more…”
3. Combo Special
This is really just another deposit-match bonus, but with a different set of games eligible for clearing the wagering requirement compared to the site’s generic welcome bonus described above. This offer is worth up to $4,000 at a match rate of 200%. In exchange for slightly-better terms than the welcome bonus, the rollover requirement is 35x, meaning bettors have to play even more to clear their total winnings. As far as which games are covered, the T&C page lists “. . . Slots, Keno, Bingo, Scratch cards, European Slot Poker, Blackjack, Perfect pairs, Video poker, Multihand Video Poker, Texas Hold’em, Tri-card poker and Vegas Three Card Rummy.” Other games either count a tiny percentage or not at all. These are all still pretty high-risk games, especially since some of the site’s shorter-odds slots are excluded as well.
4. Weekly Bonuses
Players that join Casino Titan can sign up for a weekly newsletter that contains exclusive and limited-time bonus offers, all covered under the umbrella of “Weekly Bonuses.” The specific bonuses involved in this promo differ from week to week, but appear to cover a variety of slot and table games, with small prizes such as the current 10% bonus on a set of specific video poker titles.
Conclusion
Casino Titan is not one of the sites I readily recommend to online gamblers, unless they’re from the United States. Even then, it’s important for any potential new customers to understand the problems other players at the site have had claiming winnings. On the plus side, their customer support system appears to work well, and they offer games accessible across a variety of platforms, including a mobile-capable site for smartphones and tablets. Casino Titan’s affiliation with the Winpalace and Affactive groups and issues with any licensing from Curacao are major red flags.
